XF 1.0 Testing e-mail settings?

Hi there,
I set up xenForo on a local machine with XAMPP and since I don't have my own mailserver here and xenForo needs to send mail to external e-mail addresses, I am using SMTP.
So I input all the data, but the forum doesn't seem to be sending out any e-mail.
Is there a diagnostic tool or something to test the forum's e-mail settings?

Mail errors will usually show in the log:

Admin CP -> Tools -> Server Error Log

Errors in the log will usually indicate incorrect SMTP info. Otherwise if there are no errors but emails are not received then you need to examine the mail logs on the server to see what's happening.
