As designed Tagging pop-up is forced to left side regardless of cursor position

I just noticed this when tagging someone in a post. I seem to recall, and I'm not 100% on this, that in at least a version prior to 1.3.5 (which is all I have to test this out on) that the pop-up that presented when you started to type after the @ showed up below the @ itself. Now, it shows up all the way on the left-hand side of the editor box, regardless of where you are typing.

Did this change somewhere along the line or is my memory faulty?
