At last I've updated my website to XenForo (it was running IPB 3.1 before). I chose XF because it of its clean architecture and ease of development. I've tried developing applications for IPB before and it was a nightmare.

The website is a Russian community for League of Legends fans.

I'll be glad to answer any questions.

    UPD:
We've rolled out our brand-new custom written module to aid users in writing game guides: http://lol-game.ru/guides/
The guide creation interface took most of the work: http://lol-game.ru/guides/new, however it's only accessible for logged-in users so you can view its screenshots in the post

I checked your site out, and did not see one instance of Teemo! You must surely fix this tragedy!

    Impressive.

    - uses Xenforo's editor with a few additional buttons.
    - new items appear in what's new ?
    - new items appear in xenforo searches.
    - comments.
    - do new comments bump the post back onto what's new ?
    Permissions:
    - can you assign admins, mods, members to be able to create pages ?

Can you provide as much detail as possible about your Page creator ?

Hi. It's not a page creator. It does not create XenForo page nodes if you mean this. It uses completely separate content type, specific to our guides structure.

It fully utilizes XenForo's permission system for all actions.
Users can post comments to guides.
Unfortunately we still lack deeper integration like "what's new", "user activity" and search integration, but we plan in implementing it soon.

    Ahh. I understand.
    Great.
That would be great, especially What's New and Search. Some people probably want user activity.

Q: How hard would it be to use Xenforo's default Content type (Posts) ?

I understand why you chose your own Content type. However, for people with less formatting needs a regular post is fine. Not to mention, if you use the default content type you automatically get:
    What's new
    Search
    User activity
    Permissions
    Like
    Alerts
    Report,
    upload a file
an editor that people are familiar with.
    compatible with Addons:
    - Likes enhancement
    - XenTags
    - Any other post enhancements (current and future).
    etc.

How hard or easy would it be to have your Guide creator, but using Xenforo's default content type ?

Very awesome integration :), I was working on a LoL style awhile back and always pondered how difficult it would be(or expensive) to get a coder to do something like this.

    Nice work!

How are Guides Pages created ?
If someone has the right permissions, is there an [Add new] button ?

Is everything done OUTSIDE the AdminCP ?

How are Guides Pages associated with a Tab ?

Seems like you are misunderstanding the whole concept of the module. It is to allow users to create their own guides for playing League of Legends champions so yes, the whole guide creation interface is outside of control panel and is accessible to privileged users.
It does not create pages and it is not connected to XenForo's native content types or pages in any way. It utilizes completely separate storage and structure for the guides.

Each guide consists of different very specific parts so I see no reasonable way to use XF's native posts for it (you can see a live example of the guide e.g. at http://lol-game.ru/guides/176/)
This one [IMG] is the "Create new guide" button. Other two are "Guide list" and "My guides"

Really nice theme. I just don't understand why some pages have the LOL theme while others have the more basic forum theme. Is it a mix between a CMS and Xenforo or am I missing something?

Anyhow looks nice and I like the guide creation module.

    Thanks!

We use XenForo on the whole website: portal pages with heavier design use XenPorta.
We created separate design for the forum to make it less distracting for users as they spend more time talking on the forum rather than reading news on the main page.
