XF 1.2 Replying to threads - icons

Question, when I have replied to a thread, "sometimes" it shows my little user icon overlapping the member who started the threads icon. I first thought my icon was placed there "every time" I replied to a thread, however, there are some I have replied to that do not have my little icon overlapping as the others - why is it?

The mini-me avatar appears in all threads you have posted in.

If it isn't, you may need to rebuild the cache in the ACP.

Is there a reason I would need to rebuild this? Would I need to do this periodically? if so, I would find it strange to have to do so. Perhaps a cron job?

Thread information, with positions and post count rebuilding enabled. This is only needed if you import and want this applied to old threads.

Should i rebuild any other caches being i have imported over from VB?
