With Beta 2:

My thread "Test äöüß 1234" converts to http://www.xyz.com/index.php?threads/test-äöüß-1234.31694 in the url.

(Should be http://www.xyz.com/index.php?threads/Test-äöüß-1234.31694)

This behavior depends on the browser. IE will display the urlencoded string; basically everything else displays the characters properly. If accented characters are going to remain in the URL, there's no other option. (Not encoding it is a violation of specs and causes problems in some instances.) Stripping/transliterating characters would be a suggestion (that I think has been posted).

Thanks for your answer, Mike!

Right, the problem seems to appear only in IE (checked with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome).

But: I'm currently using vBulletin and with that IE displays all properly. What's the reason it didn't work with XenForo?
