XF 1.2 Permissions question

Hello,

I was just playing with my permissions, and setting up a new forum that is View only your own topics. I would like to be able to have certain threads, such as pinned ones, able to be viewed by all members, since I'd like to have a thread that contains information about posting in that section.

I was just wondering if this was possible, and if so, how?

There's no option to do that.

It's one of the issues of that option.

You can't make instruction threads. You could use a notice, although it probably wouldn't work very well due to length.
