[OzzModz] Moderate New Replies In Thread

[OzzModz] Moderate New Replies In Thread [Paid] 2.0.1

No permission to buy ($15.00)
Sorry, maybe i dont understand it.

I have coded something now to have what i need.
Set a thread to "overwatched",
show this to the people with "thread is moderated"
and get new posts as "moderated".

I thought this addon does the same. It is late, i will read it again tomorrow.

I have bought an older version of this, but maybe have not understood the function.
I need:

set some specific threads to "moderated", means that all new posts in such threads are set to moderated.

Can i use that?

What is happen, if a post is edited?

New reply => moderated
1. Can i still edit?

New reply is not moderated any more, user edits this post.
2. It is again moderated or not?

I see two scenarios:

1. Stop spam in certain threads from fans or haters with moderating replies.
2. Do the same with edited posts, else fans or haters can still show their messages, we dont want to have.

If i remember right from code, the edit is not overwatched, right?

Yes, thought so.
Do you have an idea how to realize that?
In my try i have a problem now with reactions, because they seem to "moderate" the post also.

is there anything else to do than allow to switch to Admin?
Seems people still can write without moderation.

@Ozzy47 can you help me understand this add-on please.

I have a forum with node permissions set to require moderator approval of new threads & replies in that forum. To reduce moderator workload associated with the approval queue, I would like to allow “trusted” forum members (which I would define in a user group) to post on that forum without requiring moderator approval.

However, I don’t see an obvious way to do that (in XF2.2). It looks like the only option is to either moderate a node or not moderate.

Does this add-on allow me to do have a specific user group bypass the node permissions setting requiring moderator approval of threads & replies in that node?

Make sure users don't have "Submit without approval in moderated nodes" or "Submit without approval / Approve/ Unapprove" permissions.
There is an option in the addon settings to ignore these permissions in threads.

No, this add-on does not affect the approval state of new threads.

It only allows you to set a rule to require approval for new posts in each thread individually.

Thank you for that clarification.
Sure would like to see an add-on that allows an user group to "submit threads & posts without approval in moderated nodes".

If there is one available, I don't see it.

Can you please add the usual message with "this thread is moderated"
Maybe as option if other people don't like that.

This add-on still does not work for me.
Can you please help with a list of what could be wrong?

1. Subforum, no extra permissions
1.1 Subforum
  • Moderate new threads posted in this forum
  • Moderate replies posted in this forum
both not checked

2. group reg. user
2.1
Submit content without approval yes or no?
if yes, your add-on seems not to work, if no, all posts are moderated?

2.2
Submit without approval in own reply-moderated threads
no

Thread x was set to moderate replies
but a user was able to write a post some minutes ago.

I have changed:
Toggle in moderated nodes to no
Now it seems to work.

Ignore "Submit Without Approval" & "Approve Unapprove" permissions is set to yes

I have installed the "post as moderated", it seems that "post as moderated" changes "moderated replies" to not-moderated replies?
I don't remember where to stop this.

I have uninstalled "post as moderated"; it seems to kill the function of "moderated replies in threads"
You may check these add-ons to work together, please.

It has no effect if the user does not have permission to choose in which state to post the content.
If you check the "Moderated" checkbox, it will be published in the queue for moderation. If you uncheck the box, it will be forced visible state.
No matter what state you set up the thread with moderate new replies in thread add-on.

Isn't this how it works for you?

Moderate replies in thread A

User writes a post in thread A => post is moderated.

------------------------------------------------

Now install "post as moderated"

User writes a post in thread A, no check box => post is not moderated.
User writes a post in thread A, check box => post is moderated

Now unstall "post as moderated"

User writes a post in thread A => post is moderated.

The problem is your sentence:

If you uncheck the box, it will be forced visible state.
As said, the "post as moderated" kills the function of "morderate replies"

A thread has moderated replies because people want to fight here (as example)

The "post as moderated" add-on kills this protection.

From my point of view:

1. Nothing should touch/change the function of "moderate replies"; there is a reason to use this function for a thread.

2. The "post as moderated" is "post as moderated", it should not be "post as not moderated",
this could be a second add-on or second permission with its own checkbox.

a) post as moderated
b) post as not moderated

3. "post as moderated" (and "post as not moderated") should be specified for all forums, some forums or "not in these forums".

This is a daily experience in a forum where

a) some threads must be protected (moderate replies)
b) people ask for help with threads to watch them before publishing (post as moderated)
c) forums with always moderated threads (xf) (sensible threads)
d) user groups have always moderation (xf) (new users)

If you uncheck the box, it will be forced visible state

breaks all rules. As said, there should be two add-ons or two functions for that

a) post as moderated
b) post as not moderated
