Yesterday I was reading a post about the default setup of the board. I can't find the post again, but they were asking about having users required to select what features they wanted. I recall that the reply was something to the effect that a database query was required. This would be way above my skill level.
Is there any other method that could achieve this? I want to remove some choices regarding alerts on profile posts. I can remove the fields by modifying the relevant templates, but that only achieves the goal if the conditions are "opted out" by default. There is no harm to removing access to something that was never "turned on".
