Hello this is my first post here and I hate to come with a problem so soon. I just bought Xenforo today and tried installing it apparently my host does not have mysqli and I was wondering if there was anyway to make it work with just MySQL? My host is looking into installing the extension now but I was just curious if there was a way around it.

I don't believe there is. It's the MySQLi way or no way I'm afraid.

Well thats kind of what I figured but it was worth a shot.

The MySQLi way is much better anyway. Performance increases of course, more secure queries, etc.

Just in case you aren't already aware, the server requirements along with a script to facilitate checking are here at the bottom left: http://xenforo.com/purchase/

No kidding! Wonder why I had not seen that? Probable because most of the forum software I have installed were run on straight MySQL. I guess there always has to be one in the bunch.

And for good reason. PHP and MySQL recommend the use of mysqli over mysql. The former uses the newer mysqlnd native driver.
