Macbook board replacement in a day?

Hi

I'll be in USA (Huston and San Francisco) just for 20 hours in each city before leaving to another country. I'm looking for replacing my Macbook 2016 board since I split coffee on it so board, keyboard and battery (may) have to be replaced.

Do you know if it is possible to get it replaced in a few hours only? Is there any way to speed up this process?

When I had my MacBook screen replaced (which I believe involves replacing the entire top), it took 4 days.

I highly doubt you’ll be able to get the board replaced in a day.

(I’m not 100% sure if they had to send mine off or if they did it in-house).

Depending on the model and what inventory each apple repair store has, sometimes you can get it replaced same day. Otherwise, your only real resolution is to buy a replacement unit.

Each Apple store has techs that work on the machines. Once you know which store will be closest to you, you can schedule a service before you get there.

I replace my own parts on my Macbook and I do it in less than 2 hours. I replaced the touchpad, keyboard, battery, and cooling fans in less than 2 hours so I can't see it taking any more than that to replace what you need.

This is enough to don't try to do it myself.

That is actually false and outdated. The logic board is what you want to replace. New ones come with everything already. You just have to transfer your memory sticks and processor cooling. There is no adhesive holding the battery assembly to the case, they use screws. Retina display, however, I have not had to replace on mine so can't speak to that.

Your not limited to just the Apple store. Geel Squad inside Best Buy plus thousands of mom/pop repair shops are authorized apple partnershttps://www.google.com/search?q=authorized+apple+repairs

Not all Geek Squads fix Apple products right there, for instance the Geek Squads around me, there are around 5 different Best Buy's, ship them to an Apple repair center and then receive them back fixed.

It seems easy:

However, the logic board seems quite expensive ($1450), almost like a new macbook:

Is there any other website where I can check better prices?
I definitely have to change the keyboard as well, not only the logic board.

Remember mine is 2016 model and there aren't too many videos on youtube about it

I always check Amazon for my parts. Ebay is horrible for pricing on any new parts.

Definitely not false or outdated. That applies to the 2016 and 2017 macbook pros, pretty much everything is soldered on them.

If you have AppleCare or an active warranty I wouldn't try to do it yourself since that'll void the warranty, also the 2016 and 2017 macbook pros have the RAM, NVME and probably the CPU soldered on so you'll have to deal with that as well

Even if they said they could do it, would you risk them actually having it ready when they said?

Ah I didn't know that, I have worked on 2011 to 2015 models so far, 2016 I just got someone wanting me to fix the keyboard so this should prove a fun task now that I know about the soldering.

I bought it in January and has been on my desktop, death since September. Warranty will end next month but if it is soldered I won't touch anything.
