XF 1.4 Loading from a Back-up

Hi all

Any help would be appreciated. I had hosting via heart internet on a reseller account. My reseller pulled the plug and I lost my whole forum. I have moved the account today to a new reseller and want to install the forum.

I have a back up made from Plesk Control Panel from 1 week ago.

Do I need to install the forum first and then run the back up? OR just run the back up?

Im worried about having problems with databases etc...

Any help would be brilliant.

Install latest version of XenForo software onto your new server then in the address bar type:

http://www.yourdomain.com/install

Do you want to do a new installation or restore your existing forum?

If you want to restore your existing forum you will need to import the sql backup and also upload the files to the server, especially the /data and /internal_data directories which contain all avatars and attachments.

We have imported the backup database on the new database but still nothing but internal error and 404 error.

Would anyone have a clue what we might have done wrong?

It's difficult to say without a link to the site.
It could be a corrupt or incomplete backup, misconfiguration, server related, etc.
