XF 2.1 Is it possible to get hacked by install add-ons ?

I have a serious question
What if I install someone add-on on this Xenforo Resources but it leads to their website, can they get my sensitive information like password, etc... from my host/server ?

It's a paid add-on, but it also from new guy, so don't know if they code properly or any bugs, just worries
