My new favorite! I'm loving the blue..

I've been using various dark blue designs for over 10 years as well on my site, and I still love them! Ours is called "Nether". While I love the color scheme, we can't compare to your countless customizations and limitless creativity! We're not worthy! :)

Thanks for your kind words Jason 🥰

Countless customizations and creativity make me swear a lot when trying to match up colours site-wide :X3:

Hello! I just noticed this on mobile while viewing your site.

I noticed that after click Forums in navigation 3 buttons; Post Thread, Add Media and Add Recipe were not responsive.
Thanks for reminding me, I meant to restyle that but forgot

Plus points decent domain name and some nice content.

Not so good points
The logo for me is far too large.

The home page design goes off the page and requires scrolling to the right to see all the content which is not ideal and looks and feels clumsy. Having your navigation in the traditional location (top of page) might remedy this issue.

The other thing that I find odd is the recipe aspect, I think you should strongly consider a seperate blog with social media (and a seperate relevant domain) for this side of things as it doesn't fit with the overall concept in my opinion.

Further critique would be too many contrasting colours and I think the uix light option rather than dark would be a better option to show case your content.

Good luck with your forum, it's a great concept and I'm sure it'll do well!

Interesting, no-one else has ever mentioned this. Can I ask which browser and what size of screen you are browsing on so I can investigate this further?

We are mainly a small community of real-life friends, one of the things a group of members like talking about is food and recipes whilst others like talking about sport and some like video games and the group as a whole like discussing movies and tv shows...hence all the different sections. I don't think there is any need to separate the recipe section and put it on a different domain - most of the members aren't computer savvy so I'm not going to re-direct them elsewhere.

This won't change. A lot of the members and the admin like darker colours (some have poor eyesight and find reading text easier on dark backgrounds) but as I've mentioned in other posts, I am working on a light style and an alternative blue theme so there will (eventually) be a choice of styles.

I'll pass all these comments on to the site admin though, thanks again :)

I think choice of styles is the way to go (y)
Maybe I'm the only one with the scroll issue on the front page due to the dated version of chrome my chromebook is running

although having said that, I haven't seen this issue (needing to scroll right) on other websites using this browser.

Good luck with the forum, I may check back to look at some of your recipes for meal ideas :)

Since that browser was released March 2018, I'd suggest updating it and see if that problem goes away.. If not, then its a bug worth fixing...

@Gemma I can only get the scrollbar to popup very briefly when it is shifting between viewport sizes using the latest Chrome... It then seems to autohide itself. I can take a video if needed...

Thanks, I'm going to be offline for a couple of weeks. I'll investigate further when I'm back :)

Been quiet in the world of forums for a few months. Updated a LOT of add-ons and made some cosmetic changes to various parts of our site

Might look at switching my homepage from xenPorta to [TH]Featured Threads and Content as part of my next big site upgrade

Some small changes I've made.....

Still not online very much, today is the first time on my own site for 4 weeks due to real-life commitments but I've changed our navigation system back to the default, more conventional system instead of the sidebar option (UI.X2 feature). I'm sure there is a better way to display the navigation on sites but I haven't found it yet and haven't had too much time to explore alternative design layouts.

Not had much time online lately but today I managed to update a bunch of addons

I love the way my recipe section and blogs look with the latest updated versions of Showcase and UBS by @Bob, I also updated the Pickem and Sportsbook addons too.

And I also updated to the latest versions of TMDb TV Thread Starter and TMDb Movie Thread Starter and tidied up some of my CSS code for both addons.

I've barely had any time for my site either as a member or admin but I'm delighted to see that it is progressing towards 10,000 posts and 1,000 threads and should reach both totals by the end of October :)

Quoting myself

We reached 10,000 posts and 1,000 threads last weekend :)

Made some little changes around the site, mainly on the forum index where we've added some new statistic add-ons and widgets.

And also tidied up some sections of the profile pages and the portal page

Not abandoned the other themes I was working on, I've just not had any free time to work on them. Maybe get them done before the new year
