XF 1.4 \ escape

Hi all

I've just installed xenforo and noticed in people posts that the \ is being display to escape ' e.g. don\'t

any way of sorting it out?

Did you import from a different forum application? Do you have any addons installed?

The problem you described should not happen in the default software for new posts, but it could be from an import or addon.

Not imported anything.

Only addons installed are

shoutbox / Taigachat
tapatalk
bd widgetframework

I am still inclined to blame an addon. Try disabling all addons. Then make a new post to see if the problem is fixed.

This can also be caused by an old feature of PHP called magic_quotes_gpc

http://php.net/manual/en/security.magicquotes.php

However, XenForo specifically checks for this and handles it appropriately so that shouldn't be it.

Ahh, I turned it off when installing another php script (magic quotes) but I've upgraded to php 5.4 so its not used anyway. I'll try a post and report back

Yes, that seems to have sorted it. It also seems to have sorted my problem with shoutbox not displaying.
