"Comments on another's profile" wording

I hate to do this but the text in the new Alert Preferences page doesn't look/sound right to me.

Comments on another's profile

Is it just me or would that be better off being something like "Comments on another profile" or "Comments on other profiles" or "Comments on another member's profile" or even "Comments on someone else's profile"?

/pedant mode off

I'm not 100% happy with the wording as it is now, so suggestions are welcome.

Well as "another's" is a contraction of "another user's" or "another member's" then I suppose you could just expand it to one of those?

I think my preference though would be "Comments on another profile"

Receive an alert when someone comments on another's profile
Receive an alert when someone comments on another profile
Receive an alert when someone comments on other profiles
Receive an alert when someone comments on another member's profile
Receive an alert when someone comments on someone else's profile

I prefer the latter, I think.

"Receive an alert when someone comments on a profile"
Alleviate the possessive ambiguity :)

I should clear up that the full text of these would be

"Receive an alert when someone comments on a message that was posted on your profile by you or someone else"
and
"Receive an alert when someone comments on a message that you posted on someone else's profile"

Kinda tricky to boil that down to a very short phrase eh?

Couldn't you use the term status to shorten them, considering it says "update your status" on the quick updater in the drop-down!

No, because 'status' refers only to posts made by user X on user X's own profile.

quote "Receive an alert when someone comments on a message that was posted on your profile by you or someone else"
"Receive an alert when someone replies on your profile message"
OR
"Alert me on my profile message replies"
and
quote "Receive an alert when someone comments on a message that you posted on someone else's profile"
"Alert me on others profiles when I comment"
A little more laconic ?

Ahh.
Comments on your status or profile post (status covering the "by you", profile post covering "by someone else")

I prefer the latter, I think.
The word latter only works when there are two items lol. The second of two.
But if you mean what i think you mean then i like the last one.

Damn.. of course it does. Sorry, mustn't have been paying attention.

Yeah, the last one "Receive an alert when someone comments on someone else's profile"

quote "Receive an alert when someone comments on a message that was posted on your profile by you or someone else"
"Receive an alert when someone replies on your profile message"
OR
"Alert me on my profile message replies"
and
quote "Receive an alert when someone comments on a message that you posted on someone else's profile"
"Alert me on others profiles when I comment"
A little more laconic ?
Too concise? Or too ambiguous ?
