As designed Changing reason to delete thread

When I have a deleted thread, By Development reasons I need to change the message to DATA_DELETE_REASON, I can see the popup with the option but when I try to change the message apparently it assume that the thread is deleted and don't change the message.

By another way, the message should be seen in the popup, because at the moment there isn't any location to see the message of why the thread was deleted.

The deletion reason is only applied when the content is moved to a deleted state - if it's already deleted, the value won't be updated. This is basically intentional.
