Birth date privacy

Hello.

One of our users asked, "I commented about the requirement to enter your birthday. How flexible is that? I would prefer a Birth Year entry, and to make it optional. And to say up front that visibility can be changed in Account setup/preferences."

I suspect that her concern is about privacy. Some of our members discuss very private information on our support forum, so anything that protects their privacy is important to the community.

Could anyone comment on this? Ideally I'd like to implement the suggestion on the demo forum, but I realize that that might not be possible.

Entering a birth date at registration is optional, configurable in the ACP.
