There are some other addons that might suit your user pages.
As noted above any XF space where a user is authorised to type text, they can embed a video. You just type the URL.
Waindigo's Library creates a container - like a Category. Articles in it are like threads and each has a listing on the main Library page with preview text describing the Article.
Currently you'd create a Library for each of the users who want display space. But I know Jon (Waindigo) I'm sure he could customise this so you could make this automatic. So if you put these users in a usergroup they'd automatically have their own Library for their sales displays. This would \mean a small fee though the main Library addon is free.
Each Article can have multiple pages which paginate. You can also do clever things with Custom Fields - create more boxes for users to fill in as a form to add data to the sales display - whatever is appropriate to standardise the look for your site. Different usergroups could have different kinds of structure.
Library + Custom Fields can be designed to do reviews.
There is also Showcase which might be very much what you want. This places a`link on the user author's profile. It ends up looking very much like the Resource Manager here on XF - see Resources on the top navbar.
I think that as your needs are very specific and I thbnk like me as an admin you want EXACTLY what you want, your best course is to buya single XF and play with it. It's not expensive after all nothing like VB.
Try out these various addons mentioned here and see which one best suits your needs. Since yours is a commercial site it is reasoinable to invest a little\money into research testing.
As far as the comparison of XF and VB goes they are poles apart. I used VB for years but the more recent versions are no good - buggy - slow - sloppily designed - and their rip off pricing structure!!!! The admin is a messy nightmare.
XF has a simple honest pricing structure at a modest level. Its user experience is `sleek and addictive! Totally up to date `and very stable.
On the admin side it is very sleek and comfy to use, and almost endlessly possible to customise.
The addon community is excellent with - as you see above - plenty of options. The only complaint is that there is so \much possibility it is hard work choosing the best option! Support here is fast, intelligent and doesnt waste time trying to fob you off.
The VB modding community used to be very good but so many of those mods are now dead wood no longer supported. That is not obvious so the list looks bigger than it really is. Also VB modding runs on a separate site. Here addons are very much part of the central community. Ask a question about either the core or the addon right here and get a helpful answer within hours, at worst a couple of days for an addon. For the main addons the staff here know how they work.
On important issues staff here will even visit your site and look at it from the admin side to fix a problem!
But most of all this is simply advanced well designed software, using the` latest of everything, and its community is quick to respond and give solid help.
But as I said your needs are very specific so I recommend you test drive a purchased XF with various addons. Talk to some of the developers - Waindigo for Library or bobster65 for Showcase or look up the others above. Contact them by private conversation on here - under Inbox by your name top right.
