"Thread type" filters were just implemented by XF and appear when you click Filter, and are under the selection "Thread types" so I consider them pretty buried.
My suggestion is a filter bar which is consistent with the new types in dedicated forums, but also this helps with discovery. Also if possible, structure should follow suit.

As follows.
- Add a filter bar similar to the dedicated content type forums for ease of browsing and discovery of those types of content.
- When filtered, it would be great if that type would adapt the dedicated forum type structure, ex. When you click Questions is looks like a Questions forum with the votes, and Articles could be expanded if that is selected in admin, etc. (Ex: In the node: When filtered by article only, use expanded view?) Thanks!
