Have to say, I think it might be useful for those of us who are planning to port over to xenforo, but want to make the change as smooth as possible for our users? I'm tempted to install on my existing vB4 to get my users used to it before I port over.
Thanks. As I'm on shared hosting with hostgator, how would I restart the server?
Also I'm not sure I follow you with regards to redirection.
Do you mean that if I do an import with xenforo at /xenforotest then I need to implement redirection once I move xenforo to /forum ?
or is it to do with...
I've currently got my xenforo installed at a temp location on my webspace, at /xenforotest
my existing vB4 is installed at /forum
Once I do a final import of my vb4 database into xenforo and it's all working, what do I need to do to move my /xenforotest to /forum - in terms of what...
I've definitely got 1.51 then. And it wouldn't work until I removed those spaces.
interestingly, with the built in 3.7/3.8 importer each of the fields was pre-filled with a $config line.
Before I deleted the spaces, those fields were blank in your vB4 importer. once I deleted the spaces, the...
I get this:
Access denied for user ' root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
Zend_Db_Adapter_Mysqli->_connect() in C:\xampp\htdocs\xenforo\library\Zend\Db\Adapter\Abstract.php at line 459

The import worked using the built in 3.7/3.8 importer, but the 4.0 importer generated around 8 error lines and gave up. Any ideas?
I've imported my vB4 database into a local installation to make sure I can get everything working before going live.
I've got a 'contact admin' section which, under VB was private so that users (and guests) could start a thread that was only visible by the thread starter and the Admin/moderator...
I'm getting ready to port my vb4 board over (finally) and I want to get a decent style/skin etc sorted from the outset. Is it possible to have different Icons for each sub-forum when viewing the forum home-page?
If so, how easy is it to do?
If it went as an eCheck then that's usually because you don't have a debit card associated with the paypal account. if you just have a bank account linked then it will go as an eCheck.
A credit card would normally go instantly, as would a debit card.
