XF 2.0 PayPal Instant Payment Notification Warning

I got my first IPN warning this morning, but now I see that there are tons of user warnings in the PayPal payment log in the forum going back years. But I never received any warnings about this before. Entering a proper IPN URL in PayPal is a problem, since I'm receiving payments from several...

It doesn't work with XF 2.x, so it doesn't matter. I do prune older downloads from time to time. Too many. This thread was created by that add-on, however: https://www.theparacast.com/forum/threads/consciousness-and-the-paranormal-part-10.18426/

Fair enough. I do not recall the name of the add-on that allowed you to manually close a thread and make a new one based on it in a single step. So Wildfire Part I becomes Wildfire Part II. I usually run a couple of dozen or so on each of three forums, and do not always notate the names unless...

No, this was NOT a native feature. I understand what native means, having lived through Apple's first processor transition to the PowerPC with its 1994 models.

This was an add-on that would create a new thread and close the old one. It was for XF.

I had no attitude. I stated a fact. It's the response that indicates typical online clique behavior. It's also common, as I said, for people of that sort to accuse other of what for which they are guilty, dude. Please pay attention! Your comments were utterly unnecessary.

Better define "bump" for people who don't use the jargon. Assume all user levels and possible unfamiliarity with sometimes obscure jargon in writing documentation. Consider all possible users of your plug-ins. As I said, a few phrases can often do wonders. The screenshots of permissions setups...

I downloaded and installed it and tested it. So, yes, I have a right to review.

I see that the developer has barred me from posting a review. Make it zero for the offensive attitude.

It's also common for online cliques to accuse others of that for which they are guilty. We have a former President who tried to steal the election by charging the opposition with stealing the election. Maybe someone here will be adult enough to apologize for their behavior. But I doubt it...

As I said, it's typical of online juveniles to make foolish insults when they don't get their way. Memo to developer: The time wasted in this forum would not have been wasted had documentation been properly clear and fewer assumptions about the value of jargon were made.

Please, I've been at this longer than most of you have been alive. I prefer to speak in English and not jargon when I can so that people understand what I'm saying. That's my job.

I figured this would degenerate into yet another forum of insults from members of the usual online cliques.

Excuses. Because something is noted on Wikipedia doesn't make it common.

I wish you developers would make sure that your documentation clearly explains the use of an add-on, with full installation directions as appropriate, without assuming jargon as a shortcut. A extra phrase or two can do wonders. The more time you spend with documentation, the less time you need...

No, not common at all. I've not seen it before and I've been running forums, large and small, for 30 years, dating back to the early days of AOL.

So it makes it "new" again, that's all. Too bad there isn't a way to create a new thread based on previous one, when the original thread gets too crowded. We had one that worked with XF 1.x.
