think the owner sold his development of this utility. you could try zbblock. number of people have used that for blocking.
it does a lot more than just block bots. Also it is not a xenforo addon so editing ini files and manual setup is required.

I've recently upgraded from XF1.5 to XF2 and also changed the posts per page setting I now see users reporting links within the forums are broken because the original page numbers within the URLs are now not correct.
