As far as I know you can't use another server for files by default. You need a plugin for that. Either way, you can compress the files - it will also be beneficial if you have an external server just for files.
Which means most people will get an error once they try to upload. It depends on the forum's size/user database, but let's say you limit 30MB per upload, most people will get an error unless the video is less than 15-20 sec.
A 720p video with a bitrate of 17Mbps is about 100MB/minute. A 1080p...
I think what mainly will prevent forum owners from letting users uploading their video files is the size of the files. Considering the fact that most new phones can take 4K videos, it would be really appreciated if it could compress the files.
I’ve attached a screenshot video explaining the problem. It happens with XF 1.5 as well. iOS 11.4. Select a text and try to scroll up (you basically can’t). Probably an iOS bug, but you may report this to Apple better than I could do it.
