Thanks, as I mentioned above I am using user group promotions, but it isn't quite as simple as that because forum members are being rewarded for their contributions on a different website.

I was persistent, which is hardly the same thing as being rude. I want to find out as much as I can about what this software can (and can't) do before adding more licenses to the two I've already bought - isn't that why this forum exists?

When I tried this messages posted in the private forum were returned in Search results and in Profiles. Unless there's some easy way of turning this off it's hard to see what use this feature is.

I need to add all existing members of my forum to a new user group before the forum goes live next month (there are certain discussion areas that I don't want new users to see post launch). Is there any easy way to do this pre 1.2, eg using a MySQL query?

Following advice provided in another thread I'm moving my XenForo site to a new hosting company. As I have free space with the old company I'd like to turn my existing installation into a test site using a different domain name (because it would have to be different - but I'd change nothing...

We have 20 connections at the moment and we've reached the limit twice already with only 100 users (all active as they were specially invited). There are nearly 5,000 people on the waiting list so you can understand my concern. Now looking at VPS - any recommended providers?
