I am having this exact same issue...new threads speedy, navigating around the forum...speedy, replying to posts, sometimes speedy, sometimes 5-20 seconds. I've tried disabling email notifications. This problem has only appeared in the past 2 days.

Stuff like what? All the forums you've created and stuff? Nope, all you're doing is replacing the forum files. If however you've customised templates and so on I can't guarantee that those wouldn't be replaced.

Just re-upload the install again...you don't to actually re-install the forum software...

I've just re-uploaded all the core XF files and it's a bit better, out of 20 new posts I did only one took about 5-6 seconds to commit...

Oooh, that's a bizarre error. I get something similar through Safari on my mac...can't help with that one sadly...

Ahh ok yes, XF is not too bad actually as it's quite simple to use however the permissions bit blows my mind completely but it seems to work so i'm not going to mess about with it!

What bit aren't you "getting" - i've got years of forum experience but not much XF experience...

Yep, on your local machine open the UPLOAD folder of the add-on, inside there you may find a few more folders "js", "library" and "styles". Simply drag these folders into the root of your XF installation, in your case "/forum". Then you should be able to run the installation XML with no problem.

One other thing I did do yesterday was create a user group promotion now I know there's a cron entry for that as well. Now it's not necessary I have promotions, but then i've only got 120 members so it's not like the database is being hit for thousands of users. Just thinking out loud...

I too am having these problems and they suddenly started yesterday morning. I did install two addons yesterday, "XenKingDir directory" and "Extend XenKingDir" both of which have been disabled but I still get the slow down. It tends to only affect replies and is VERY intermittent...sometimes...

When an admin/mod or whatever soft-deletes a post is there a way somewhere of seeing them all on one page, kind of like grouped together?
