xenForo meaning

    i wonder why its called xenForo :)
    is there a story behind?

    This was just with 2 ex-vBulletin developers. Imagine if Kier, Mike, Freddie, Scott, and Jerry were all working on this. :p

    Foro is a spanish word, which in english means Forum.

    I like the Xen part, but Foro seems a bit awkward in the English speaking world.

    A rose by any other name is but a rose. Anyway, xenforo is quite easy to market (since it's unique and sounds...exotic).

    My take on its meaning:

    Xen = Different
    Foro = Forum

    XenForo = Different Forum [meaning not like other ones]

    "xen" is a virtual machine monitor . Foro is Spanish for forum.

    Lol I agree on this...

    By take on it is

    Xen = Zen (minimalistic calming etc)
    Foro = Forum (just a cool short and different way of doing it **except for the spanish**)
