Hi,

I have currently around 100 different smilies in use on my board. I would be interested to "downsize" this a little bit, delete some of them and add new ones.

What happens in XF1.3, if I delete an old smiley? Is this then also deleted in all old postings or is it only deleted in the smiley selection for new posting?

It's only deleted in the smiley section.

In the post it will return to plain text.

So if you deleted

mmmhhh... so if I want to keep the icons in the old postings, it would be smarter to hide the icons within 1.3 ACP for future use and only add the new ones there...

Yes, you can hide them from appearing in the editor, but they'll still be visible in the Admin CP:

Also, the smilies will still be usable, but they just won't appear in the smiley editor.

I used this to import many of our old smilies the other day, and am pleased to report it was quite painless
