Most likes and most followers does basically the same: it highlights the members who have the most appreciated content on the website. It seems more logical to combine both into one ranking.

hmmm... I would not combine it as "Most Likes" is related to content and "Most Followers" might have other reasons why users are "following" a specific member.

At "Most Likes" it should display the most liked content, whereby at "Most Followers" it should indeed show the Avatars of the Followers of a specific member.

What other reasons are there to follow a user except that you like their content?

- you know the member personally
- member helped you on an issue
- member gave you a good answer on a question you had
- etc. , etc., etc.

Just an example:
I am following some people here at xenforo.com not because I like their content specifically, but because they helped me out on some styling-issues or some other help I needed and they gave me some good answers on the issues I had.

If we would have content-related Bookmarking based on "interests", then you could also "follow" a members "Content Collection", but not follow the member itself.

So you literally follow the "Content", but you do not follow the "Member".

I know I have posted that video already several times (and I really do not want to annoy you by re-posting it again), but "Following Content" versus "Following a Member" is explained quite good in that video:

Thanks for the great video!

I do not see the difference between following a member and its content though. Or at least I do not see the purpose of following someone if not to get the members content and liked content into your newsfeed. Is there another purpose for following a member, asides the newsfeed?

If you like a member or have formed a friendship but are not interested in his newsfeed then why would you follow the member?

sorry for offtopic, but we need some insider jokes here:

Fact I:
Jason is 45 years old!
Fact II;
Franc Martin isn't 54 too (i wasn't able to find his age anywhere:( )

O.K., I am done with my suggestions for the "Notable Memberlist".

All I can say is this:
the Memberlist is "empty space" and it is worthwhile to utilize this "empty space" in order to fuel user engagement.

Take it. Change it. Or leave it.

:)

O.K., I am done with my suggestions for the "Notable Memberlist".

I am not keeping my promise :p:D ;)

One more suggestion:

it would be great to be able to create individual Memberlists based on "Custom Profile Fields".

So for example, if I have the following "Custom Profile Fields":
- Member is a Buyer
- Member is a Supplier
- Member Location

Example:
I would like to display a Memberlist showing all members who are a "Buyer" and have the Location "United Kingdom".
Then I would like to display a Memberlist showing all members who are a "Supplier" and have the Location "China".

So I would create a list in the Footer or create a new Tab in the Navbar which shows Links towards some custom Memberlists.

Generally speaking, it would be also favourable to change the "User Location", "User Gender" and "User Birthdate" into "Custom Profile Fields" in order to have more flexibility and to have the ability to SEARCH by "Custom Profile Fields".
Making "Custom Profile Fields" searchable would make XF useable for many other niches (e.g. Dating-Sites, etc.).
