There should be a default option of a forced waiting period, say a week or two, with reconfirmation and email notifications to the user self and the admin before the complete deletion just to avoid accidental and malicious closures.

This needs a "soft close" option, like Facebook... ie. it disables the account, but if they log back in it automatically reactivates the account. Either way, no loss of information.

Both the options: Hard delete and soft delete. We aren't FB

Why are you using an option instead of permission to decide who can close their account?

this doesn't remove their posts, right? what does their posts appear as after removing their account? can someone sign up with the same username as a deleted account? is the registered user group the only group that can delete their account? thanks!

Will this be continued for 1.1.12 ?!
