Library by Waindigo 1.3.3

Adds the Library node type, with the ability for users to add multi-page, BB-code articles.

  1. Waindigo
    This add-on adds a new Library node type, within which it is possible for users to create articles. Articles can be made up of multiple pages, which can be formatted using BB-code.

    Library nodes can also contain other nodes, such as categories, forums, pages or other libraries. This add-on also support the Nodes As Tabs add-on to allow Library nodes to be set as tabs.

    This add-on also works well with Custom Fields by Waindigo and includes a custom field for linking articles to a discussion thread when both add-ons are installed.



    Installation:
    • Upload contents of upload folder to root directory, overwriting any existing files.
    • Install addon-Waindigo_Library.xml file.
    • Log in to Admin CP and set permissions for libraries (see screenshot below).

    Distributed free for non-commercial use only. Please contact Waindigo to licence for commercial use. All copyright notices and references to Waindigo must remain intact. See here for more information.

    I can actually AT LAST create pages in the easy quick bbcode editor just like a forum post.
    I can create multiple page Articles.
    The collections of Articles (the Libraries) act like nodes so they carry permissions.
    The admincp additions are easy and clear to manage.
    The whole thing builds on the existing XF structure and functions, no messy extras, no hacks to templates unless you want your own design, but lots of expansion.
    Nice to have a roadmap of development right up to a CMS.
    Most of all support is fast and focused on what is needed.
    Nice to be able to ask for customisation too.

    I use this add-on to post short stories and also use it as a replacement for the Comic/Manga add-on that is no longer supported. This is probably my favorite add-on on the whole site.
